The International Convention on Students’ Quality Control Circles (ICSQCC) is an nnual event where students from different countries present quality improvement projects and share knowledge on quality management. Hosted by a different country each year, it provides a platform for young people to showcase their understanding of quality principles, receive training in quality tools, and network with peers and professionals in the field. Recent events include the 49th ICQCC in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2024 and the 45th in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2020.
To promote quality control practices among students and foster a culture of continuous innovation and improvement.
Teams of students from various nations participate to present their quality improvement projects and compete.
Competitions and presentations typically involve students presenting case studies, models, and showcasing their work using the “QC story” or similar quality tools.
The event serves as a networking opportunity, allowing students to exchange ideas, learn best practices, and be inspired by global quality standards.
The convention is organized by national quality organizations, such as the Bangladesh Society For Total Quality Management (BSTQM), and involves participation from numerous countries.
The 49th convention brought together over 3,000 competitors from 14 countries to share their quality management practices, including many from Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector.
This event focused on students, with 20th edition of the convention for students held in May 2017, according to BSTQM.
Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM) is a voluntary organization engaged in promoting Total Quality Management (TQM) in Bangladesh. The society was established on 04 May 1996.
